Asystole is another non-perfusing (cardiac arrest) rhythm.
There are no discernable ECG waveforms in asystole.
However, an ECG that is malfunctioning or not connected to a patient also has no discernible waveforms so, it is wise to confirm in another lead and check the electrodes.
Asystole is associated with a very poor prognosis.
